What we set before you choose

When you first open this site, no analytics or advertising cookie is set. Google's tag loads on every page so it is ready, but its advertising and analytics signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage) all start denied. The tag's own script file only loads after the page has finished loading, so it never competes with the page content for bandwidth.

We also record anonymous performance measurements, such as how quickly a page loaded, and counts of actions such as quote requests. These contain no cookies, identifiers, IP addresses or form contents, and are recorded regardless of your cookie choice.

Your browser stores your choice locally, in a value named dta-consent. Until you choose, that value is absent and the denied defaults above stay in place.

What changes when you accept

Choosing "Accept" on the cookie notice sets dta-consent to "granted" and updates Google's consent signals to granted for advertising and analytics. From that point, Google Analytics records anonymised page views and events, such as a quote request being sent, and Google Ads records conversion measurement, such as that a quote or callback request was made, for our advertising campaigns. Both may then set cookies on your device.

Choosing "Essential only" keeps every signal denied, so no analytics or advertising cookie is set. The site still works fully either way.

Change your choice

You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. It clears your stored choice and shows the cookie notice again so you can choose afresh.
