DTA Adds 4x4-Mounted Elevated MAST Photography & Video

In May 2017 Drone Tech Aerospace added 4x4-mounted elevated MAST photography and video to its portfolio of survey, inspection and promotional media services. The new capability was designed to complement, rather than replace, the company's aerial drone work.

Managing Director David Field explained the reasoning behind the investment: no matter how robust a drone operator's Operating Safety Case is, CAA flying permissions will always exclude certain locations (roadways, railways, busy public areas, flight paths and security-sensitive sites among them) where flying a drone is either too dangerous or not permitted. The elevated MAST gave DTA a way to reach exactly those locations with a stable, elevated camera platform.

With the MAST rig now part of the fleet, DTA was able to extend high-quality photography and video coverage to sites that its drone permissions alone could not reach, broadening the range of survey, inspection and promotional projects it could take on.
