A Spectacular View: Site Survey on a Penllyn Castle Renovation
A slight north-easterly breeze and a light haze in the air, but conditions were good for the time of year, well suited to a full site survey on a castle renovation project in Penllyn.
With the building fully scaffolded for the renovation, the drone captured detailed coverage of the structure and its setting, tracking progress on the works and giving the client a clear record of the site as it stood that day. It's the kind of view that's hard to beat: a working day with an office overlooking rolling countryside and a heritage building mid-restoration below.
Update surveys like this one are a routine part of longer renovation and construction projects: a short return visit gives the client an up-to-date aerial record against the original baseline, without the cost or disruption of scaffolding-based inspection. Flown correctly, they turn into a running visual timeline of the works, useful for progress reporting, stakeholder updates and, occasionally, a genuinely spectacular office view.
